These two met sixteen years ago ( high school sweethearts at its best). They’ve known each other for most of their lives but still their love is one of the sweetest and kindest loves I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing – their love is fierce and sweet and playful even after years of being together. I feel super honoured to have ended my 2018 wedding season with a wedding like this.
A few years ago they started a brewery, Zwakala, on the same farm as their family wedding venue, Mina’s Art Cafe. They decided to get married at their own venue (not a hard decision, if you ask me – it is beautiful) and kept is as natural and raw as possible. On the 29th of December 2018, they tied the knot under a massive tree, on a Persian rug in front of all their loved ones + their dogs. Surrounded by their families, they said their own vows to one another and afterwards went to have a beer in their very own brewery.
Katherine asked two of her aunts to design and make her dress. To get the perfect old pearl colour, its been dyed 18 times. EIGHTEEN TIMES – that’s some dedication but it was worth every dye.
Enjoy their story and let me know what your thoughts are!
Love,
