ABOUT ME

MEET nina

For over a decade, I've been documenting weddings across South Africa and around the world, creating photographs that feel honest, timeless, and deeply personal.

My work has been featured in publications including Vogue, Over The Moon, and Junebug Weddings.

Today, I photograph a limited number of weddings each year, allowing every celebration the time, care, and creative attention it deserves.

Based in Cape Town, I work alongside my husband, Hernoβ€” the filmmaker behind Other Half Films. Together, we offer photography and film for couples looking for a seamless experience, while also continuing to work independently with other creatives we admire.

I'm drawn to the moments that can't be planned: the quiet glance across the room, the embrace that holds a little longer than expected, the laughter that catches everyone by surprise. Alongside those moments, I bring a sensitive editorial eye, creating photographs that feel effortless, refined, and true to the people in front of my camera.

Away from weddings, life is wonderfully ordinary. I'm happiest spending time with our little family, usually outdoors, sharing good food and a bottle of orange wine with friends, or gathered around a table long after dinner has ended. Those quiet moments remind me what photographs are really forβ€” not simply to remember how everything looked, but how it all felt.

If that resonates with you, I'd love to hear your story.

MY journey

Every couple has a story, and one of the greatest privileges of my work is getting to know the people behind the celebration. Over the years, those stories have shaped my own. Here's a glimpse into the journey that brought me here.

2014

One couple's trust changed everything. I photographed my very first wedding and discovered the work I was meant to do.

2015

I met Herno, the love of my life. Four years later, we married in our favourite place on earth, Plettenberg Bay, surrounded by our closest family and friends.

2019

After completing my studies and documenting my 100th wedding, I took the leap into photography full-time. Around the same time, Herno launched his filmmaking career, and together we began offering a combined experience.

2022

When we welcomed our sweet son, Nikolai, into the world, we intentionally slowed down, focusing on weddings closer to home. And truthfully, there are few places as extraordinary to get married as South Africa.

2025

With our little family settled, I began documenting weddings abroad, a chapter that has taken me to some of the most beautiful places in the world.

2026

Today, I feel deeply grateful to be fully booked for 2026 and already halfway booked for 2027. If our paths are meant to cross, I'd love to hear your story.

HOW IT works

01

LET'S GET ON THE SAME PAGE

I’m sure you have a few questions and are wondering what comes next. Feel free to send me an email with all the details, or fill out my contact form. I’ll send over my availability and packages, and we can schedule a call from there.

02

SIGNED, SEALED AND READY TO GO

Ready to book? I’ll send over a booking package with your invoice, contract and questionnaire. I require a signed contract, completed questionnaire and booking fee of 40% to hold your date. The balance is due 14 days before your wedding.

03

MAKE THE MAGIC HAPPEN

Once your date is confirmed, we’ll begin dreaming up how to capture your unique love story. Before the big day, we’ll meet to plan your timeline, discuss what matters most to you, and I’ll walk you through my process. This is where our adventure together begins.
