ABOUT NINA

  • My work sits somewhere between documentary and editorial. I'm naturally drawn to the real, unposed moments - the laughter, the quiet glances, the people who mean the most to you, and all the things that make your day uniquely yours. At the same time, I love creating portraits that feel effortless, refined, and timeless.

    Above all, I want your photographs to feel honest. Images that take you back to exactly how the day felt, while still feeling beautiful decades from now. The kind you'll look back on with your children and, one day, your grandchildren.

  • For photography collections, I usually work alongside my professional second photographer, unless stated otherwise in your collection.

    If you've booked photography and film together, Herno and I will photograph and film your day as a team, with additional photographers joining us where your collection includes them.

  • Weddings are at the heart of what I do, but I also love documenting families, maternity, and couples. Whether it's an engagement, anniversary, elopement, or vow renewal, I'm happy to take on a few of these sessions when my calendar allows.

    And if you have a creative idea that's a little different, I'd love to hear it. Some of my favourite projects have started with someone simply sharing their vision.

  • Yes. My husband, Herno from Other Half Films, and I offer combined photography and videography collections on request.

    Working together allows us to create a seamless experience from start to finish, with a shared approach and vision. If you're looking for both photography and film, I'd be delighted to send you more information.

  • I regularly travel for weddings from the Paarl, Western Cape, so some availability depends on my travel schedule.

    For weddings more than 120km from where I'm based, please allow for travel and accommodation in your budget. For engagement and lifestyle sessions, I work within roughly an hour's drive of Cape Town,depending on where I'm based at the time.

BOOKING WITH ME

  • First of all, congratulations!

    The best place to start is by filling in my contact form. Tell me about yourselves, your wedding date and location, and what matters most to you. If I'm available and it feels like we're a good fit, I'll send through my collections and we'll take it from there.

    I open my calendar 15 months in advance, and I take on around 32 weddings each year, and because I plan my season around travel, availability can vary depending on the location. If your wedding is sooner than that, though, please don't hesitate to get in touch— I may still have space.

  • To secure your wedding date, I'll need a 40% booking fee, a signed contract, and your completed questionnaire, which I'll send through once you're ready to book.

    At some point along the journey, I'd also love to schedule a call so we can chat about your plans, priorities, and everything you're dreaming up for the day.

  • I don't offer discounts, as I believe every couple deserves the same experience and level of care.

    During my busy season, I also don't offer less than 9 hours of coverage (or 7 hours during my quieter season), and I don't reduce the number of images included. Your gallery is a natural reflection of the time I'm with you, allowing me to document your day without anyone feeling rushed.

BEFORE THE WEDDING

  • No. Editing is an essential part of my creative process and is what gives my work its finished look and feel.

    I carefully curate and edit every gallery, so you can trust that you won't miss any meaningful moments.

  • Your booking fee is non-refundable, as your date is reserved exclusively for you and I only take on a limited number of weddings each year. If you need to move your wedding and I'm available on the new date, a new booking fee is required to secure it.

  • Not usually and honestly, I enjoy arriving with fresh eyes. If it's a new venue, I'll simply arrive early to explore the space before the day begins.

  • A few months before your wedding, I'll check in for everything I need, including your timeline, family photo list, and vendor details. I'll also help refine your timeline to make sure you have enough time to enjoy your day while getting beautiful photographs.

    If there's anything you'd like me to know beforehand - family dynamics, surprises, or specific requests - please don't hesitate to tell me.

  • Sure. I always appreciate knowing if there's something you're feeling nervous about or a particular moment that's especially important to you.

    You're also welcome to share a tightly curated list of inspiration images (up to 15). They help me understand what you're drawn to, while still allowing me to photograph your wedding in a way that's authentic to you and true to my style.

  • While I love working alongside Herno, I'm equally happy to collaborate with other professional videographers whose approach complements mine. A team that works well together makes a huge difference to your experience, timeline, and ultimately your photographs, so I'm always happy to recommend people I trust.

  • Email is always the best way to get hold of me. We'll also arrange a video call before the wedding to chat through everything together.

    I'm not available on WhatsApp, so if something is urgent, please give me a call.

AT THE WEDDING

  • Every wedding is different, so we'll build a timeline together (or with your planner) before the day. For most afternoon weddings, I usually start between 12:00 and 14:00, depending on your coverage and the vision you have for your celebration.

  • I'll ask about your dress code beforehand so we can blend in seamlessly. Most of the time, we wear professional attire in neutral colours or dress to match the formality of your wedding.

  • If your celebration runs longer than planned and you'd like us to stay, we're happy to do so and simply

    invoice the additional time afterwards. We'll always check with your planner or MC first to make the most

    of the coverage you've booked.

AFTER THE WEDDING

  • I carefully remove distractions such as blemishes, bruises, stray hairs and other small imperfections, while keeping you looking like yourselves.

    I don't heavily retouch features, as I believe your photographs should feel natural and timeless. If there's something you're particularly self-conscious about, please let me know— I'm always happy to help where I can.

  • My editing style is very consistent, so you can expect the same look and feel you see throughout my portfolio.

    That said, every wedding is different. The people, the light, the weather and the setting all shape your gallery, making it uniquely yours.

  • Full wedding galleries are delivered within 3-4 months, while engagement sessions are delivered within 6 weeks. I'll send you a highlight selection of about 100 photos shortly after your wedding so you won't have to wait long to relive the day.

    Your images are backed up multiple times from the moment they're captured, using dual memory cards, multiple hard drives and cloud storage, so they're as safe as possible throughout the process.

  • You’re welcome to get in touch if you’d like to order an album. You'll choose your favourite images, along with your preferred cover, colour and personalisation options. From there, I'll thoughtfully design your album before it's professionally printed.
